Before you go...

Stop by the town office and pick up a transfer station sticker for your vehicle.

ONLY Deer Isle residents and property owners may use the transfer station. Contractors working for a property owner may apply for temporary disposal permits with the Town Manager.
There is a $12 fee for disposing of any appliance containing Freon. A receipt from the Deer Isle Town Office is required.

The transfer station cannot accept​
Demolition Debris or Big tires (tractor trailer, dump truck, etc) Contact DMJ Waste in Ellsworth / (207) 667-4333 for possible dispolsal.

Propane tanks must be presented to the attendant for inspection before displosal.
Household Hazardous Waste
The transfer station cannot accept hazardous waste. Do not bring any toxic chemicals, oil, solvents, paint or other liquids or toxic powders to the transfer station.

Motor Oil: Walmart may accept up to five gallons of uncontaminated used motor oil.
